Thoughts on income tax

Although five days old, Fred Clark, aka the Slacktivist, posted some interesting thoughts. Here's the PowerPoint summary:




  1. This is not "tax day." It's income tax day.

  2. Most of us already have a one-page return.

  3. [Deductibility of health insurance premiums] doesn't apply to those buying it because they work for a miserly publishing giant that does not offer benefits to all of its full-time employees.

  4. Three hours and 43 minutes to complete the 1040EZ? This is, frankly, impossible.



He does the math and concludes that 1040-EZ requires only two subtractions and a table look-up. How's that for tax simplication?
